A good chunk of Tampa’s best beer is flowing right here in Ybor City! From classic lagers to bold sours, each of these breweries in Ybor City brings something special to the table. Whether you’re a total beer nerd or just looking for a fun spot to grab a pint, these breweries are where it’s at. Let’s dive in!
Best Breweries in Ybor City
1. Tampa Bay Brewing Company
With locations in Ybor City and Westchase, Tampa Bay Brewing Company has mastered the art of craft beer, great food, and an unbeatable atmosphere.
Their taproom boasts 24 rotating taps, pouring everything from hop-forward IPAs to fruit-packed sours and crushable Florida-Weisse beers. And let’s talk about the food—this place goes beyond basic bar bites. Think loaded pizzas, juicy burgers, and Tampa-inspired dishes.
If you’re ordering food, I cannot hype up their French onion soup and pizza enough. Their Greek salad is also top-tier. And if you’re in the mood for something totally unique, get the Pizza Cubana—a wildly good mashup of Cuban sandwich flavors on a pizza. Trust me, it works.

2. BarrieHaus Beer Co.
Barriehaus Beer Co is a small but mighty microbrewery that blends old-school brewing traditions with modern flair. Their downtown Biergarten is the perfect place to chill—whether you’re with friends, family, or even your pup.
What really sets BarrieHaus apart is their Czech side pull faucets, which give their beers an incredibly smooth pour with a thick, creamy foam. It’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in taste and texture.
I’ll be honest—their beer selection isn’t usually my go-to, but I couldn’t resist trying one of their oversized pretzels. Zero regrets—it was massive and ridiculously good. And if you’re into learning about how craft beer is made, their brewery tours are definitely worth checking out.

3. Coppertail Brewing Co.
If you’re hitting Ybor for a day, Coppertail Brewing needs to be on your list. Housed in a 100-year-old Ybor City building, their grand tasting room gives you plenty of space to sip, snack, and soak in the vibes.
They’ve got a rotating selection of 20 beers, but their “Core 4” lineup is always on tap. That includes Unholy, an American Trippel ale with a whopping 9.2% ABV (a personal favorite of Remi’s), along with two IPAs and a smooth porter.
I went for the Guava Passion Sour, and it immediately took me back to Hawaii—fruity, refreshing, and just the right amount of tart.
And can we talk about their food menu? It’s surprisingly huge for a brewery, and everything we tried hit the mark. We ordered a brisket sandwich special, and wow—it was so good. Even the fries were next level (which says a lot coming from a tater tot girl). The food here is so good that Coppertail made my list of the best restaurants in Ybor City!

4. Big Storm Brewing Tap Room
Finding out that Big Storm Brewing has an Ybor City location was such a pleasant surprise! It’s been one of my go-to breweries in Clearwater, but I had no idea they had four locations across Florida!
Their branding is bold, their beer lineup is diverse, and their cocktails are just as refreshing as their brews.
Some of my favorites? Their Tropic Pressure Golden Ale and Bromosa Tangerine IPA are Florida staples, and if you’re feeling something a little different, their raspberry lemonade cocktail is insanely refreshing.
They also have a balcony with a killer view of 8th Avenue, an extensive food menu, and weekly events like trivia nights and $1 wings on Wednesdays!
5. Sky Puppy Brewing
Tucked inside Casa Bomberos, Sky Puppy Brewing is a hidden gem with a unique backstory. Originally built in 1888, this spot was Tampa Fire Station #2 until 1924, making it the oldest original firehouse in the city.
But let’s talk beer—because they have options. Whether you’re into IPAs, stouts, sours, or just looking for something different, their beer list delivers. And if you’re not in the mood for beer, they’ve got wine, seltzers, and even non-alcoholic brews so everyone can find something they love.
The vibe is super intimate and welcoming and the service is top-notch. While it might be one of the smaller breweries in Ybor City, Sky Puppy knows how to make an impression!
