Midtown Tampa is packed with incredible places to eat, whether you’re craving fresh and healthy eats, indulgent pizza, or an upscale dining experience. No matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s something here that’ll hit the spot. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite restaurants in Midtown Tampa that you need to check out—let’s dig in!
Best Restaurants in Midtown Tampa
1. Sunda New Asian
Sunda New Asian effortlessly blends traditional and modern Asian flavors, creating a dining experience that’s both unique and ridiculously delicious.
From the first time I tried Sunda in Chicago, I knew it was special. So when they opened a Midtown Tampa location, I was beyond excited!
Their menu is stacked with incredible sushi rolls, flavorful noodle dishes, and creative fusion plates. I recently went for brunch, and wow—ube waffles, Japanese fried chicken, and tempura French toast? Every dish was better than the last. And their Sumo Mary is not just a bloody mary, it’s an entire meal in a glass—seriously, the most over-the-top, iconic brunch drink I’ve ever seen.
If I had to pick a favorite? Their crazy rice is hands-down the best fried rice I’ve ever had, with just the right amount of heat. Their sushi? So fresh. The Emerald mocktail? A masterpiece. The atmosphere? Total vibe.
I don’t say this lightly, but Sunda might just be my favorite restaurant in Tampa. If you haven’t been yet, run—you’re going to love it!
2. Walk-Ons
For casual, hearty American eats in Midtown Tampa, Walk-Ons is where it’s at. Whether you’re watching the game or just grabbing a chill meal, this place has something for everyone.
The menu is packed with juicy burgers, wings, loaded nachos, and refreshing drinks—basically, all the comfort food you could want. But if you’re in the mood for something lighter, they also have solid salad options that don’t skimp on flavor!
3. Sal Y Mar
Sal Y Mar is giving Tulum vibes right in the heart of Midtown Tampa, and I am here for it. This Tampa rooftop bar and restaurant is all about coastal-inspired flavors, stunning views, and a relaxed yet upscale ambiance.
I first visited for dinner a while back, but my most recent brunch here was next-level. The RumChata French Toast? Absolutely unreal. Sweet, rich, and perfectly indulgent—it completely stole the show.
Their menu has changed a bit since my last visit, but that just gives me an excuse to go back (not that I need one!). Whether you’re here for brunch, cocktails, or a sunset dinner, Sal Y Mar is a must-visit Midtown spot that always delivers on both flavor and atmosphere.
4. BellaBrava
BellaBrava is all about fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the kind of warm hospitality that makes you feel like family.
Their menu is packed with handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, and mouthwatering seafood dishes. Whether you’re indulging in a classic bowl of pasta or sipping a handcrafted cocktail, every bite feels like a little trip to Italy.
Their wood-fired pizzas are legendary, and if you haven’t tried them yet, you’re seriously missing out. And bonus—they have a St. Pete location too if you ever find yourself on that side of the bay!
5. True Food Kitchen
True Food Kitchen focuses on wholesome, nutrient-packed ingredients! Their menu is loaded with options for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone looking for gluten-free dishes.
But don’t get it twisted—healthy doesn’t mean boring here. Their salads, pizzas, and bowls are bursting with flavor, and every dish is designed to leave you feeling good.
For a lighter but still delicious meal in Midtown Tampa, True Food Kitchen is a no-brainer.
6. Ponte
Ponte is serving up serious fine dining vibes in Midtown Tampa. Created by James Beard-nominated Chef Chris Ponte, this spot is all about elevated, upscale dishes with a touch of Parisian flair.
The menu is a dream—premium steaks, fresh seafood, and incredible appetizers that set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The split-bone ribeye? Easily one of the best steaks in Tampa Bay—every bite was absolute heaven. So steak lovers be sure to have this spot on your list of restaurants in Midtown Tampa to check out!
Their mushroom soup and escargot are next-level, and the sleek bar and lounge add just the right amount of swanky-chic to the experience.
7. Oronzo
Oronzo is fast-casual Italian with a twist—and by twist, I mean Italian burritos. Yep, you read that right. This Midtown Tampa spot is shaking up the game with a menu that goes way beyond your standard pizza and pasta.
Launched in spring 2020, Oronzo was created by a team obsessed with fresh family recipes and bold flavors. You’ll find handmade pasta, crispy pizza, loaded bowls, and, of course, their famous Italian burritos—because why not?
If you’re down for something fun, fast, and full of flavor, Oronzo is calling your name.
8. Kale Me Crazy
Kale Me Crazy isn’t just your average health food spot—it’s a vibrant, feel-good cafe that makes eating well actually fun.
Their menu is packed with nutrient-rich bowls, wraps, and energizing smoothies that’ll leave you feeling amazing. I had the quinoa bowl, and it was so good—fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick smoothie or sitting down for a power-packed meal, Kale Me Crazy is the perfect place to fuel up in Midtown Tampa!
9. Colony Grill (Pizza)
Colony Grill is bringing legendary thin-crust pizza to Midtown Tampa, and trust me—you need to try it. This spot has some serious history, dating back to 1935 in Stamford, Connecticut, where it started as a post-Prohibition tavern before evolving into a full-blown pizza institution.
The star of the show? Their famous “bar pie”—a super-thin crust, just the right amount of cheese and sauce, and their signature “hot oil” topping that adds the perfect spicy kick!
