Los Chapos Tacos is a super laid-back counter-serve restaurant. This much-loved Mexican restaurant serves a variety of food ranging from burritos, quesadillas, guac & chips, and burrito bowls.
We loved their street tacos, and the birria tacos definitely lived up to the hype. The esquites were the perfect accompaniment. This Ybor City restaurant also has locations in Lutz and Brandon!
They are closed on Sundays.

La Creperia Cafe
La Creperia Cafe is a charming breakfast or lunch spot in Ybor that brings a taste of France to Tampa. It’s quaint, but it offers an extensive menu of sweet and savory crepes.
During our visit, we had to try one savory and one sweet crepe, and both were delicious! The Marie Antoinette was one of the best crepes I’ve ever had: Nutella, banana, fresh strawberries, and a unique addition of Bailey’s (Irish Cream liqueur) that took it to the next level.
For savory, we went with the Oppa Mexicana, which was packed with cheese, rich red meat sauce, green pepper, sweet corn, and Tabasco sauce, all topped with sour cream and salsa. Don’t forget to pair your crepe with a rich espresso!
Sushi House
Sushi House is a haven for sushi enthusiasts. Although it has been too long since my last visit, the memories of its offerings are still very prominent in my memories. I’m overdue!
Begin your your meal with the irresistible sweet and spicy edamame, a perfect blend of flavors that sets the stage. From sushi rolls and sashimi to an array of small plate options, the menu provides endless possibilities to satisfy your cravings. Personally, I cannot resist recommending their volcano roll, a true delight!
Al’s Finger Licking Good Bar-B-Que
I recently checked Al’s Finger Licking Good Bar-B-Que off of my personal list of Ybor City restaurants to check out, and I have definitely been missing out! The tantalizing aroma of smoked meats wafts through the air, drawing you in before you even step foot inside.
This family-run establishment is known for their Tennessee-style BBQ, and they certainly live up to their name. When we visited, we couldn’t resist trying their mouthwatering ribs, which were generously portioned and packed with flavor.
The side dishes stood out equally as much! The mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent and the coleslaw was a delicious blend of flavors.
Madame Fortune
If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Ybor, look no further than Madame Fortune. This hidden gem is not only one of the best restaurants in Ybor City but also one of Tampa’s best-kept speakeasy secrets.
During our visit, we couldn’t resist trying their mouthwatering turkey wings, a unique and flavorful dish that left us wanting more. The wings were generously sized and bursting with flavor, the lemon pepper sauce they were in was to die for.
To top off our meal, we indulged in their lemon and blueberry icebox cake, which was heavenly.
La Segunda
La Segunda is renowned for its iconic status and its exceptional Cuban sandwiches. They have one of the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa! Although it may not offer the traditional sit-down restaurant experience, this is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Tampa Bay.
Many other establishments in the area proudly serve their delicious Cubans on La Segunda bread, a testament to the remarkable quality and reputation of this revered eatery. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, be sure to savor the irresistible flavors of La Segunda’s famous Cubans during your time in Ybor!
Bernini of Ybor
Bernini of Ybor is an Italian restaurant in Tampa that offers an amazing dining experience with the added bonus of a BOMB happy hour! Every day from 4-7 PM, you can enjoy 50% off pasta and entrees, as well as $3 Stoli martinis. Remi and I highly recommend their dirty or espresso martini.
Situated in the historic Bank of Ybor City building, Berninis offers a unique and charming atmosphere. During our visit, we couldn’t resist trying their lasagna and calamari, both of which were perfectly cooked!
Coppertail Brewing
Coppertail Brewing is not only a popular Ybor City brewery but they also offer delicious food! Their menu includes a range of options, including their mouthwatering pulled brisket sandwich. This savory delight is a must-try, packed with tender and flavorful brisket that will satisfy any meat lover’s cravings.
And if you’re a fan of fries, their waffle fries are a crispy and flavorful treat that will leave you wanting more. I’m usually a tot girl myself, but these really won me over.
Coppertail Brewing is one of the many amazing breweries in Tampa!
Jimmy’s Tacos
Jimmy’s Tacos is a modest, family-run taqueria that serves up a delectable array of Mexican delights. This Ybor restaurant specializes in mouthwatering birria tacos that will transport your taste buds to culinary heaven.
Prepared with tender, slow-cooked meat and served on warm, delicate tortillas, these birria tacos are bursting with rich, flavorful goodness.
As you step into Jimmy’s Tacos, you’ll be greeted by a shaded, open-air space that exudes a warm and inviting ambiance.
Asiatic Street Food and Noodle Bar
If you are looking for an Ybor City restaurant that will transport you to the vibrant streets of Southeast Asia look no further than Asiatic Street Food and Noodle Bar.
Combining fast, fresh, and flavorful dishes with a stylish and contemporary setting, this restaurant is perfect for lovers of classic Thai cuisine. Their menu features a variety of noodle bowls, curries, and iconic dishes like the famous Pad Thai (my personal favorite).
The flavors are authentic and satisfying, leaving you delighted with every bite. Don’t forget to pair your meal with their selection of beer and sake for a truly complete dining experience.
Which of these Ybor City restaurants are you visiting first?!
I think that it’s apparent exploring the best Ybor City restaurants is in fact one of the best things to do in Ybor! From authentic cuisines to innovative fusions, Ybor promises an option for every taste.
I would also like to note that Colombia is one of the most popular restaurants in Ybor, but personally, the only thing I have enjoyed there is their salad (which is fabulous). But it is an iconic Ybor establishment.
