In this blog post, I will take you through the top restaurants Hyde Park has to offer!
Must-visit restaurants in Hyde Park Tampa
Timpano
Timpano easily stands out as not only one of the best restaurants in Hyde Park Village but also one of the best Italian restaurants in Tampa! With its grand Italian steakhouse concept and opulent ambiance, Timpano offers a truly unforgettable dining experience.
As you step inside Timpano, you’ll immediately feel the lively and energetic atmosphere. However, if you prefer a more intimate setting, venture towards the back of the restaurant, where a cozy and romantic dining experience awaits. It’s the perfect spot for a memorable date night!
The menu is a fusion of traditional Italian comfort foods with a contemporary twist. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, but the standout dish I can never resist getting is the Parm-to-Table Macaroni Experience.
For this dish, pesto is expertly prepared tableside in a parmesan wheel. Even if you’re not usually a fan of pesto at Italian restaurants, Timpano’s rendition will make you a believer with its incredible flavor and freshness!
To complement the exceptional food, the restaurant has an extensive wine list and a signature drink menu that includes everything from classic espresso martinis (my go-to!) to a refreshing frozen strawberry Aperol spritz.
This is a pretty popular Hyde Park restaurant, so be sure to make a reservation.
Forbici Modern Italian
While Forbici is known for its fantastic pizza and pasta dishes, there is one particular menu item that keeps me coming back for more – the tender calamari. Served at an affordable price of $8 during the daily happy hour, which runs from 3 PM to 6 PM, this flavorful appetizer is simply irresistible. And don’t even get me started on their Erica kale salad!
If you save room for dessert, you can treat yourself to creations like the Lemon Olive Oil Cake, Tiramisu, or the classic Cannoli.
The environment here is always fun and they often have live music to accompany the great food and drinks.
Meat Market
Meat Market is undoubtedly another standout restaurant in Hyde Park Village. The menu is a symphony of flavors and has a variety of exceptional creations, with their signature steaks taking center stage. Each bite showcases the expertise and finesse of the culinary team.
Meat Market’s magic extends beyond steaks, with their enticing selection of appetizers, fresh seafood, succulent oysters, and vibrant salads. Notably, the Brussels sprouts and asparagus sides deserve every ounce of praise given to them.
In addition to the food, Meat Market sets the bar high with their unique selection of cocktails. Whenever I visit, I always go for the Honey Bunny: a blend of vodka, strawberry puree, and Prosecco. And, I can never resist getting a drunken oyster shooter, a true testament to Meat Market’s innovative approach to libations.
This is another Hyde Park restaurant where you should be sure to make reservations in advance. Part of what makes this spot so great is the atmosphere, so make your reservations in the main dining room.
bartaco
Bartaco draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Brazil, Uruguay, and Southern California. You can expect an exclusive selection of delicious street food in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.
Bartaco’s menu ranges from mouthwatering appetizers like their street corn to flavorful tacos and rice bowls. While their tacos have gained well-deserved popularity, it is their mezcal cocktails that truly steal the show.
Crafted with fresh-squeezed juice, each cocktail is a testament to the art of mixology, bringing such light and refreshing flavors. In addition to their mezcal cocktails, bartaco offers an exciting assortment of drink options. Immerse yourself in the creativity of their margaritas, sangrias, and mojitos.
On Swann
On Swann celebrates the best of American cuisine with a touch of local flair. With a strong commitment to supporting small, local businesses, this restaurant offers an impressive menu that showcases the freshest locally sourced ingredients!
Their dinner options range from juicy burgers to tender pork chops, all perfectly prepared to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.
On weekends, the restaurant even offers a brunch menu. I just grabbed a quick bite here, but I immediately fell in love with their kale salad which was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
Bouzy
Bouzy is known for its exquisite champagne and caviar. They offer an elevated dining experience in Hyde Park. The glass of Michel Forget Brut NV I had here was easily the best champagne I have ever had in my life!
I really enjoyed the oysters and five spice beef carpaccio. The caviar sandwich was actually my first time having caviar! I thought it was nice, but I would probably just order the caviar by itself next time.
Once you step inside, you are immediately greeted by the restaurant’s stunning interior. From the elegant furnishings to the soft, ambient lighting, Bouzy emanates an atmosphere of luxury and sophistication.
The Vault is a more intimate space within Bouzy, perfect for special occasions or romantic evenings. Bouzy definitely brings its own flair when comparing the top restaurants in Hyde Park Village.
sweetgreen
Sweetgreen is a popular health-conscious choice if you want a quick and plant-forward lunch in Hyde Park. This vibrant eatery offers a variety of fresh ingredients that are thoughtfully combined to create delicious and nourishing salads, bowls, and wraps.
With an emphasis on sustainability and community, sweetgreen not only provides a flavorful dining experience but promotes a more eco-friendly and ethical food system.
Another healthy option nearby is Clean Juice! Sometimes Remi and I will grab a bowl to share from sweetgreen and then a smoothie from Clean Juice and it’s the perfect combo!
