Must-visit Tampa music festivals
1. Gasparilla Music Festival
Gasparilla Music Festival is a community-funded celebration that usually lasts a joyous three days. Nestled in the heart of downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Kiley Gardens Park, this festival brings together a diverse lineup that ranges from indie rock to bluegrass.
Expect to witness the city come alive with multiple stages featuring national acts as well as local and regional artists. While it’s not a free event, the ticket prices are a bargain for the quality of entertainment provided, and better yet, all proceeds go towards supporting music education!
Indulge in Tampa’s local cuisine from the food vendors, and let the good times roll with great music and better company! This festival typically takes place in February or March.
2. Sunset Music Festival
Prepare to have your senses overwhelmed at Sunset Music Festival, Tampa’s premier electronic dance music event! Held annually during the Memorial Day weekend, this festival transforms Raymond James Stadium’s North Lot into a pulsating haven of beats and light shows.
Sunset Music Festival is a ticketed event, and while it’s not free, the memories you’ll make are priceless! Expect heart-pounding performances, extraordinary stage designs, and an unparalleled atmosphere of camaraderie. I have made friendships at SMF that I still have to this day!
Not to mention the festival vibe encourages you to express yourself through your wardrobe, which is one of my favorite parts! So go ahead and get creative. From vibrant patterns to funky accessories, there’s no limit to your imagination. After all, half the fun of Sunset Music Festival is dressing up and showing off your unique style!
3. 98ROCKFEST
Rock enthusiasts, unite! The 98ROCKFEST gears up to bring the noise to the Amalie Arena for a one-day headbanger’s retreat. This festival highlights the best in modern rock with a lineup that never fails to pack a punch.
This Tampa music festival is the place where electric guitars reign supreme, and you can join legions of fellow rock fans for a day of powerful music and explosive performances. Tickets are required, but prices are reasonable starting at $35.
With previous lineups including Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch, expect nothing less than to be blown away!

Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, this three-day festival typically takes place in April and features some of the biggest names in blues.
With previous headliners like Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang, the festival delivers exceptional music on the waterfront. While you have to purchase tickets to experience this blues paradise, you’ll find it’s worth every penny for the quality of performances and the serene setting.
Food vendors, local crafters, and the warm breeze off Tampa Bay complete the perfect picture. Just bring your lawn chair, sit back, and let the soulful tunes wash over you!
