From hands-on experiences to relaxing treats, here are some of my favorite ways to enjoy Hyde Park!
Things to Do in Hyde Park
1. Make a Candle at the Candle Pour
If you love a good hands-on experience, you need to stop by The Candle Pour. This cozy spot lets you create your own custom candle, choosing from a huge selection of scents ranging from fresh florals to warm, cozy aromas.
The process is super fun—you’ll mix and match fragrances to create a one-of-a-kind candle, with guidance from the friendly staff to help you get the perfect blend. Whether you’re making one for yourself or as a gift, this is such a unique experience in Hyde Park.
2. Catch a Movie at Cinebistro
If you’re looking for a night out with a little extra luxury, Cinebistro is where it’s at. This isn’t just any movie theater—it’s a dine-in, upscale experience, complete with plush seating, gourmet food, and craft cocktails.
I went here to see The Barbie Movie, and let me tell you, enjoying a poke bowl and a beer pitcher while watching a movie? Absolute game-changer. The whole vibe is elevated but still comfy, making it one of the best things to do in Hyde Park Tampa if you’re in the mood to kick back and relax in style.
3. Grab a Coffee
There are plenty of amazing coffee shops in Tampa! Lucky for my fellow coffee lovers, a few of them just so happen to be located in Hyde Park.
One of my personal favorites is Buddy Brew for their iced lattes, but The Salty Donut serves up a magnificent maple and brown sugar cold brew! And if you want a hidden gem, check out Jet City Espresso for their signature Cafe Borgia.
4. Cowork at Hyde House Public Studio
If you need to get some work done while you’re in the area, Hyde House Public Studio is the perfect mix of stylish and productive. The space is beautifully designed, making it an inspiring place to cowork, network, or just focus for a bit.
They offer memberships if you want to be a regular, but if you’re just dropping in for the day, they also have day passes so you can take advantage of the space and amenities.
5. Get a Cupcake from the Cupcake ATM
Yes, you read that right—there’s a cupcake ATM in Hyde Park! If you’re craving something sweet, just walk up, make your selection, and out comes a freshly baked Sprinkles cupcake. They’ve got plenty of flavors to choose from, and let’s be real—the novelty of getting a cupcake from an ATM makes it worth it!

If you’re in Hyde Park Village on a Wednesday or Friday between 12-3 PM, do yourself a favor and check out Posie’s Flower Truck. This adorable VW truck has been transformed into a mobile flower shop, bringing a little extra charm to the streets of Hyde Park.
You can hand-pick your own blooms to create a custom bouquet, making for the perfect little treat to brighten up your day—or someone else’s!
8. Indulge in Disco Brunch at Meat Market
Brunch is always a good idea, but Disco Brunch at The Lounge by Meat Market? Now that’s an experience.
On the last Sunday of every month, they turn back the clock and bring out the disco balls, funky beats, and all the retro vibes. Your ticket includes a three-course brunch, welcome cocktails, and disco-themed souvenirs—plus, you get to dance the day away while enjoying Meat Market’s incredible food.
If you’re looking for a brunch that’s anything but ordinary, this is it!
9. Make a Bracelet
One of my favorite hands-on things to do in Hyde Park is stopping by Little Words Project to make a custom bracelet. You get to choose from vibrant beads, charms, and meaningful words to create a piece that’s totally unique to you.
Whether you’re crafting a bracelet as a gift or just making one for yourself, this is such a fun and creative way to spend some time in Hyde Park. Plus, you’ll walk away with a cute accessory and a little reminder of your time here!
10. Admire Hyde Park’s Murals
It’s impossible to walk through Hyde Park Village and not notice the gorgeous murals decorating its walls. These vibrant and eye-catching works of art add such a cool touch to the neighborhood.
One of my personal favorites is the “Dreams Really Do Come True” mural—it’s the perfect photo op and a great little reminder to keep chasing what makes you happy!
11. Check Out One of the Hyde Park Village Shop Events
Hyde Park Village isn’t just about shopping—it’s also home to some of the most fun and unique events in Tampa! Whether you’re looking to get crafty, meet some adorable pups, or just enjoy a lively atmosphere, there’s always something going on.
One of my favorite events includes Procure’s “Shop and Snuggle” – Imagine shopping for unique finds while hanging out with playful puppies—because yes, that’s a real thing!
And that’s just the beginning! Be sure to check out the upcoming events in Hyde Park Village here so you can add one (or a few) to your list of things to do in Hyde Park Tampa.
12. Eat!
If there’s one thing you absolutely have to do in Hyde Park, it’s eat. This neighborhood has some of the best restaurants in Tampa, making it a go-to spot for foodies.
Here are a few of my top picks:
- Timpano – One of the best Italian restaurants in Tampa, serving up mouthwatering pasta and authentic pizza.
- bartaco – Their fresh tacos and cocktails never disappoint!
- Forbici – A charming trattoria known for its traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. Do yourself a favor and order the calamari!

Honestly, these are just a few of the incredible desserts in Hyde Park—you really can’t go wrong!
14. Take a Cooking Class
If you’re looking for another hands-on experience rec, taking a cooking class at Sur La Table is such a fun way to level up your kitchen skills.
Their expert chefs guide you through new recipes and cooking techniques, making it perfect whether you’re a total beginner or just want to learn something new. Plus, you get to enjoy your delicious creations at the end!
This is a great date night idea or just a fun way to spice up your time in Hyde Park.
15. Get Creative at Color Me Mine
Color Me Mine is one of the best things to do in Hyde Park if you’re feeling artistic. This ceramic painting studio lets you choose from a variety of pottery pieces and paint them however you like.
They also host workshops and classes if you want to hone your skills, but even if you’re just stopping by for fun, it’s such a relaxing and creative way to spend an afternoon.
16. Enjoy the Hyde Park Fresh Market
If you love farmers’ markets, you’ll want to check out the Hyde Park Fresh Market. This monthly market happens on the first Sunday of every month and features over 120 local vendors selling everything from fresh produce and plants to handmade goods.
One of the best parts? It’s pet-friendly! Bring your pup along while you browse, shop, and soak in the lively atmosphere. Plus, it’s one of my favorite free things to do in Tampa!
17. Visit One of Hyde Park Village’s Seasonal Events
Hyde Park Village goes all out for seasonal events, making it one of the best places to celebrate throughout the year! In the fall the village organizes a Tampa pumpkin patch.
The Tree Lighting is one of the best things to do in Hyde Park around the holidays. It’s a magical ceremony where the magnificent Christmas tree is illuminated, marking the beginning of the holiday season! It’s one of the best places to see Christmas lights in Tampa.
Whether you’re attending the Tree Lighting, the Pumpkin Patch, or the Fall Festival, mark your calendars and join in the fun!
18. Bayshore Boulevard
Stretching along the waterfront, Bayshore Boulevard is home to one of the longest continuous sidewalks in the world. Whether you’re walking, jogging, or biking, the scenic views of Tampa Bay and the city skyline make this a must-do. It’s one of my favorite bike trails in Tampa—especially at sunset!
19. Experience a Speakeasy
Tucked away in Hyde Park, Jekyll is already making a name for itself as one of the coolest speakeasies in Tampa. The entrance is half the fun—just place a sneaky bagel order at Sesame (yes, really!) and have your reservation ready.
Inside, the cocktail menu reads like a storybook, with bold flavors and over-the-top presentations. Drinks here are pricey ($30 each), and while I’ve preferred the cocktails at a few other speakeasies, Jekyll is an experience worth having—especially if you love a good drink with a side of adventure!
Parking in Hyde Park
- Complimentary Garage Parking – Hyde Park Village has free garage parking at multiple locations, including Swann Avenue and S. Rome Avenue (across from CinéBistro), Oregon Avenue and W. Swann Avenue, and Rome Avenue and Snow Avenue.
