The neighborhood’s tree-lined streets, picturesque parks, and beautifully preserved historic homes create an enchanting atmosphere that captivates both locals and tourists alike. As you stroll through the cobblestone pathways, the rich history of the area becomes tangible, with captivating stories etched into every corner!

1. Make a candle at the Candle Pour
The Candle Pour in Hyde Park is a unique experience that offers a chance to indulge in the art of candle making. You get to create your own custom candles while immersing yourself in a cozy and inviting ambiance.
The scent selection is vast, ranging from delicate floral notes to warm and comforting aromas. With expert guidance from knowledgeable staff, you can explore their creativity by blending different fragrances to produce a truly personalized candle.
2. Catch a movie at Cinebistro
Cinebistro is a luxury movie theater chain that offers a unique and upscale cinematic experience. With locations across the United States, Cinebistro combines the magic of the silver screen with top-notch dining and impeccable service.
Each theater features state-of-the-art technology, comfortable seating, and a diverse selection of films to cater to a wide range of tastes. From the moment you step into a Cinebistro theater, you are transported to a world of elegance and comfort.
I enjoyed noshing on their poke bowl while watching The Barbie Movie, and Remi was very pleased with his beer pitcher.
3. Grab a coffee
There are plenty of amazing coffee shops in Tampa! Lucky for my fellow coffee enthusiasts, a few of them just so happen to be located in Hyde Park.
One of my personal favorites is Buddy Brew, a coffee shop that never fails to ignite my senses. However, be prepared for the busy atmosphere, as it is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.
The Salty Donut serves up a magnificent maple and brown sugar cold brew! For those in search of a hidden gem, Jet City Espresso awaits, get their signature Cafe Borgia.
4. Cowork at Hyde House Public Studio
If you find yourself looking for a productive and creative environment, one of the best things you can do in Hyde Park Tampa is cowork or work at Hyde House Public Studio. This vibrant workspace provides an ideal setting for individuals and teams seeking a professional and inspiring atmosphere.
There is a variety of well-designed workspaces creating a conducive environment for focus and collaboration, promoting productivity and networking opportunities.
It does require a membership, but they also offer day passes to enjoy their space and amenities!
5. Get a cupcake from the Cupcake ATM
If you find yourself in the vicinity of a Sprinkles cupcake ATM, consider indulging. There are plenty of flavors to choose from. Plus, the concept of a cupcake ATM is just too cute of an opportunity to pass up!
6. Enjoy some retail therapy
Hyde Park Village is a shopper’s paradise, offering a diverse range of stores that cater to every taste and style. From trendy clothing boutiques to elegant home decor shops, this charming village has it all! It’s easily one of the best shopping areas in Tampa.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Hyde Park Village on a Wednesday or Friday between 12-3 PM be sure to check out Posie’s Flower Truck! Housed within a classic VW retrofitted as a flower truck, this whimsical mobile boutique transports you to a bygone era.

8. Indulge in Disco Brunch at Meat Market
On the last Sunday of every month, The Lounge by Meat Market invites you to experience the vibrant spectacle of Disco Brunch!

Hyde Park is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and rich culinary scene, so naturally one of the best things to do in Hyde Park Tampa includes checking out one of their amazing restaurants!
Among the many culinary gems in Hyde Park, a few stand out as personal favorites. Timpano, one of the top Italian restaurants in Tampa, serves up mouthwatering pasta and authentic pizza. bartaco has amazing tacos as well as delicious and fresh cocktails.
Last but not least Forbicci is a charming trattoria that serves up traditional Italian fare with a contemporary flair. Their calamari is an absolute must!
13. Treat yourself to dessert
Hyde Park is a dessert lover’s dream! If you’re in the mood for some of the best ice cream in Tampa, Oddfellows is a must-visit. For a unique treat, The Salty Donut is the place to be. Their guava and cheese donut is a magical treat for the tastebuds!
And of course, there are the iconic Nutella chocolate chip cookies with malted milk from Meat Market. These are honestly just a few of the many top desserts in Hyde Park!

Hyde Park Village hosts a variety of fun seasonal events throughout the year! In the fall the village organizes a delightful Tampa pumpkin patch.
The Tree Lighting is one of the best things to do in Hyde Park around the holidays. It’s a magical ceremony where the magnificent Christmas tree is illuminated, marking the beginning of the holiday season! It’s one of the best places to see Christmas lights in Tampa.

19. Unwind in the scenic Bayshore Boulevard
Take a stroll along Bayshore Boulevard, one of America’s longest continuous sidewalks. As you breathe in the refreshing breeze, marvel at the stunning views of Tampa Bay’s sparkling waters and the city’s skyline. This scenic route is perfect for jogging, cycling, or simply enjoying a peaceful sunset! It’s one of my favorite bike trails in Tampa.

Parking in Hyde Park
- Complimentary Garage Parking: Hyde Park Village offers free garage parking at multiple convenient locations, including Swann Avenue and S. Rome Avenue (across from CinéBistro), Oregon Avenue and W. Swann Avenue, and Rome Avenue and Snow Avenue.
- On-Street Parking: For those who prefer street parking, the cost is $1.50 per hour, Monday to Sunday, between 8 am and 8 pm.
- Valet Parking: Guests of Hyde Park Village can enjoy valet parking services at Buddy Brew Coffee and On Swann. The valet service is available from Monday to Sunday, from 6 pm to 12 am, for a fee of $10.
